We advise on the regulatory framework governing banking and financial activities in Greece, also in relation to compliance with the rules set by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission and the Athens Exchange. Michael Tsibris has been member of various ad-hoc committees for drafting legislation at the Ministry of National Economy, as well as the one for the Codification of capital market rules a few years ago and has amassed considerable expertise in this area.
The firm regularly advises major international financial institutions, including banks, investment firms, rating companies and major fund managers in various aspects of their activity in or into Greece. We also represent Greek issuers in the listing and delisting procedures on the Athens Exchange and as regards their ongoing obligations toward investors and supervisory authorities. Contentious procedures before the Capital Market Commission also form a significant part of our work, including in relation to market abuse, where we have been instructed in most important cases since the new MAD legal regime was implemented into Greek law and came into application, boasting unique capabilities in addressing all relevant issues from all possible aspects.
