Universal Publishing Ltd, member of the Universal Music Group, filed a petition for interim measures against one of the most famous comedy performers in Greece and his production company, while the latter replaced the original English lyrics of a series of songs of “ABBA” with Greek lyrics and presented these adapted songs to the public in connection with a satirical theatrical play regarding the economic crisis of Greece, without the permission of Universal, which is the sole owner of the economic rights of these songs. Souriadakis Tsibris acted on behalf of Universal and obtained a temporary injunction prohibiting any use or exploitation of the said songs. Following this, the parties settled the dispute.
