Souriadakis Tsibris represented a major international broker dealer on the margin financing of the shareholder of a Greek listed company.

The security granted was a Greek law pledge on shares of the listed entity. Greece has implemented the Financial Collateral Directive, which permits for a regulatory framework involving pledge registration and realization that is more or less up to international standards, in situations where borrowers do not wish to transfer title of their stock.
