Banking and Insurance

While we regularly advise a large number of Greek and international credit institutions in relation to traditional legal aspects of their activity, at the same time we have developed particular expertise and gained experience during the last years in new fields of particular interest given the current phase of the Greek economy, such as NPL servicing and transfer rules, capital control restrictions, bank recapitalization and banking resolution and recovery.

As preferential legal advisors to the Greek subsidiary of a major international insurer, we are in the position to understand the industry and combine our knowledge of insurance rules with the everyday practice of insurers and reinsurers, so as to provide optimal advice on the regulatory requirements of such activities in Greece. We are also regularly instructed by various foreign entities to advise and represent them before the Bank of Greece, the supervisor responsible for insurance. Through our participation in legal committees of the Hellenic Insurers Association we are also exposed from within to all important developments of this sector and use the relevant insights for providing perspective and depth to our recommendations and advice.
